The two safety indicators of screen ITT connectors include insulation resistance and withstand voltage.
ITT connector contact lift structure features (Figure 1)
1. Insulation resistance
Insulation resistance refers to the resistance value presented by applying a voltage to the insulating part of the connector, so that leakage current occurs in or on the surface of the insulating part. It is mainly affected by factors such as insulation material, temperature, humidity, contamination and so on. The insulation resistance value provided on the connector sample is generally the index value under standard atmospheric conditions. Under certain environmental conditions, the insulation resistance value will decrease to an unnecessary extent. In addition, pay attention to the test voltage value of the insulation resistance. According to the insulation resistance (MΩ) = applied to the insulator voltage (V) / leakage current (μA) to apply different voltages, there are different results. In the test of the connector, the applied voltage generally has three grades: 10V, 100V and 500V.
2. Pressure resistance
The withstand voltage is the critical voltage that can withstand higher than the rated voltage within a specified time between the mutually insulating parts of the contact pair or between the insulating part and the ground without causing breakdown. It is mainly affected by contact pair spacing and creepage distance and geometry, insulator material as well as ambient temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure.
The ITT connector consists of a fixed end electrical connector (ie socket) and a free end electrical connector (ie plug). The socket is fixed on the electrical component through its square (or round) plate, the plug is generally connected to the cable, and the plug and socket are connected through the connecting nut.
The connector is composed of three basic units: shell, insulator and contact body.
Among them, the pin jack is the general term for the contact body, which is divided into welding type, crimping type and wrapping type, etc., which are used to realize circuit connection.
The pin jack is the key component of the electrical connector, which directly affects the reliability of the electrical connector. Most of the pin jacks are made of elastic copper alloy materials with good electrical conductivity, and the surface is silver-plated and gold-plated to achieve the purpose of low contact resistance and anti-corrosion. The jacks generally include slotted jacks, wire spring jacks, crown spring jacks and punched jacks.
Structural features are: environmental resistance, bayonet type (quick) connection, multi-key position (error-proof insertion), contact body and wire crimp connection, (single pick and delivery is easy to troubleshoot). The shell and shielding ring ensure 360° electromagnetic interference shielding ability.
