The electrical connector shell refers to the shell of the plug and socket, the connection nut, and the tail attachment. The shell function is mainly used to protect the internal parts of the electrical connector such as the insulator and the contact body (the general name of the pin socket) from being damaged. The upper positioning keyway ensures the positioning of the plug and socket. The connecting nut is used to connect and disconnect the plug socket. The tail attachment is mainly used to protect the wire and the contact body terminal from being injured and also to fix the cable. The shell also has a certain electromagnetic shielding effect. The shell is usually made of aluminum alloy processing (machined, cold extruded, die-cast). Steel shells are mostly used in glass sealing welding and high-temperature electrical connectors.
The insulator is mainly composed of a pin-mounted insulator, a jack-mounted insulator, an interface sealing body, and a wire sealing body. It is used to maintain the pin insertion hole in the set position, and at the same time electrically insulate each contact body and between each contact body and the shell. The nylon cable tie is sealed by the insulator and the interface sealing body sealing body to improve the environmental resistance of the electrical connector.
In order to adapt to the high temperature, low temperature and flame retardant of the product, to ensure the stability and reliability of the geometric dimensions of the parts. Most of the insulators are molded from thermosetting plastics. The interface sealing body and the sealing wire body are formed by molding with silicone rubber.
Pin jack is the general name of contact body, divided into welding type, crimping type and winding type, etc., mainly to realize circuit connection. The pin jack is a key element of the electrical connector, and it has a direct impact on the reliability of the electrical connector. Most of the pin jacks are made of elastic copper alloy material with good electrical conductivity, and the surface is silver-plated and gold-plated to achieve low contact resistance and anti-corrosion.
Structural features are: environmental resistance, bayonet (fast) connection, multiple key positions (anti-error insertion), contact body and wire crimp connection, (single wire fetching and sending is convenient for troubleshooting).
